  • Now manually enter the minutes you want in-between each saves so usually people recommend inputting somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes.

  • First, open the file explorer then go to the folder below:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles

  • You need to make sure that you have replaced the user with the local Windows username, or else that path will be incorrect.
  • Apart from it, you can paste this string in the Run application (press the Windows + R keys at the same time to open it)
  • In this folder, you will see a list of the unsaved files so select that particular you want to recover.
  • You can right-click on that selected file then click the copy option by the context menu, and you can also use the keyboard shortcut of Ctrl and C key.
  • Now go to the desired folder and paste that file or you can press Ctrl and V keys to paste it.
